Frequently Asked Questions

A family of dedicated apps that each find one kind of place: ATMs, toilets, gas stations, EV charging stations, playgrounds, pharmacies, campsites, drinking water, dog parks, restaurants and many more. Each app focuses on a single use case, so you get relevant results and the details that matter for that kind of place, e.g. opening hours, wheelchair access, fees, cuisine or the number of charging points.

• Android phones and tablets. Most apps also support Wear OS smartwatches and Android Auto.
• iPhone and iPad.
• Any web browser: every app has a web version you can try without installing anything. Open an app on our homepage and choose “Launch Web App”.

Anywhere in the world. Data coverage varies by region, so some regions show fewer results than others.

The apps are available in English, German, Danish, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese and Turkish.

The locations and their details come from OpenStreetMap (OSM), the free map of the world that anyone can edit. The data is © OpenStreetMap contributors and available under the Open Database License (ODbL).

• A huge community: OpenStreetMap has more than 10 million registered users. Locals map the places they know best, including many that are missing from commercial maps, such as public toilets, drinking fountains, recycling containers or benches.
• Updated every day: Millions of changes are made to the map every day. New places, closures, changed opening hours and additional details like wheelchair access or accepted payment methods are added continuously.
• Rich details: OSM describes places with many attributes, which lets each app show the information relevant to its use case.
• Open and correctable by anyone: If something is wrong, anyone can fix it. The correction benefits every app and map that uses OSM data, not just ours.

The apps don’t ship with a fixed database. Each search queries current OpenStreetMap data, so improvements made by the OSM community reach the apps shortly after they are mapped.

OpenStreetMap is maintained by volunteers, so coverage and detail vary from place to place. You can help: report the place to us or fix it in OpenStreetMap yourself. Also note that the free version of the apps hides some of the search results; the PRO version shows all of them.

Yes, and it’s easy! Create a free account on openstreetmap.org and edit the map directly in your browser. The Beginners’ guide explains how to get started. Every place you add or correct improves our apps and every other service built on OpenStreetMap.

Where available, the details view shows Google Street View and an aerial view of the place.

Fuel prices are available in Germany only. They are provided by Tankerkönig under the Creative Commons license CC BY 4.0.

The content in the apps is compiled with the utmost care. However, since it is based on community data, we can’t guarantee that it is complete and correct. For important visits, e.g. to a pharmacy at night, check the opening hours on the place’s website or call ahead.

No. The apps work with exact or approximate location as well as completely without access to your location. Without it, you can search anywhere in the world using the address search or directly on the map.

Yes. Searching around your current location is free and works anywhere in the world. Searching at any address or point on the map, e.g. to plan a trip in advance, is a PRO feature.

Long-press the place in the list and choose “Navigate here”. The route opens in your maps app.

Yes. Choose kilometers or miles in the settings. There you can also change the theme (light, dark or system default) and the map style.

No. The apps search the current data each time, so they need an internet connection.

Wheelchair accessibility information is available in some apps, e.g. in our toilet finder app. There are three levels indicating whether a place is suitable for wheelchairs or similar mobility devices:

• Accessible: the entrance and the rooms are step-free.
• Limited access: the entrance may have a step no higher than the width of a hand, and the most important rooms are accessible.
• Not accessible: the place may be accessible by stairs only.

For a quick overview, prices are colored by value: the cheapest third is green, the middle third orange and the most expensive third red. The cheapest price is also shown in bold. For example, if the lowest price for E5 is €1.60 and the highest is €1.90, prices from €1.60 to €1.70 are green, from €1.70 to €1.80 orange and from €1.80 to €1.90 red.

Directly in the app:

• Missing place: Choose “Report missing entry” from the menu in the list or map view, then move the map to mark the exact position of the place.
• Incorrect place: Long-press the place in the list and choose “Report erroneous entry”. Select a reason, e.g. permanently or temporarily closed, moved, duplicate or not existent.

Add a comment with as many details as possible. If you enter your email address (optional), we’ll let you know as soon as the change is live.

We check your report and correct the place in OpenStreetMap. That way the fix appears not only in our apps but in every service that uses OpenStreetMap data.

The basic version is free: search around your current location anywhere in the world, list and map view, details and navigation. It hides some of the results and shows a banner for the PRO version. The PRO version shows all results, removes the banner, unlocks the address and map search and adds more settings, e.g. a higher number of results.

Yes! You pay only once to unlock the PRO features. No subscription! Pay once, use forever!

No. PRO is purchased separately for each app.

Sign in with the same Google or Apple account you used for the purchase, open the app’s settings and choose “Restore purchases”.

Your location is used only to find places near you, and only if you allow it. All details are in our privacy policy.
